Overcoming Fear and Finding Your Voice

Remember that famous Jerry Seinfeld joke about public speaking?

He references a study that said people are more fearful of speaking in front of a crowd than death. If true, it means the average person attending a funeral “would rather be in the casket than doing the eulogy.”

So, now you have been asked to deliver a speech – to your networking group, a business meeting, an association event, a conference.

You know it is an important opportunity, and you want like crazy to be able to do it, but the fears of what could happen take over you: the sweaty palms, dry mouth, forgetting your place in your speech, completely blanking out, getting laughs at the wrong parts – or no laughs at all where you want them.

I say this without hyperbole: every one of my public speaking clients has gained greater confidence by working with me – I make it fun, and I make it easy, Because focusing on impact and your audience rather than yourself is what it is all about!

And while they still may get the butterflies before speaking, you will get through it – and each time it gets easier.
